About Windermere Island
The private, peaceful and gated Windermere Island sits off the Atlantic coast of Eleuthera near the settlement of Savannah Sound in central Eleuthera. Windermere is accessed by a guarded bridge manned round-the-clock, and entrée is limited to residents and their guests. The island is 5 miles long and has a beautiful wide pink sand beach running almost its entire length. On the west side of the island, West Beach fronts the quiet waters of Savannah Sound.
There are no shops or hotel or guest house accommodations on Windermere, though some residents rent their homes to the public. Properties for rent range in size from one-bedroom suites to large villas. A residents' private club, The Club at Windermere, is open seasonally - click on 'The Club at Windermere' for more information.
Please note that not every resident who rents their home is a member of the Club; if you would like to dine at the Club and use its facilities while staying on the island, please make certain in advance of booking that the owner of the accommodation you are interested in is in fact a Club member.
Also note that neither the Windermere Island Owners Association nor the Club neither offers nor acts as rental agent for any Windermere accommodation. An online search will yield accommodation alternatives which may be booked directly with the owner.
